Some thoughts on writing output: In the AI era, many professional and technical articles are gradually being replaced. So, is writing still meaningful? After reviewing a lot of materials and deep reflection, I believe expressing yourself through writing is extremely meaningful! The genuine feelings, experiences, and deep emotional changes of a person cannot be replaced by AI. Machines, after all, are mechanical and lack emotions. Your personal experiences are vivid, unique, and irreplaceable, so AI cannot replicate the sharing of your stories and feelings.

I visited this year’s Hong Kong Computer Festival, and it was noticeably less crowded than in previous years. I’m not sure if it’s because it’s the first day or some other reason. In the past, there were many exhibition booths set up outside the venue, but this year they were clearly absent. The atmosphere inside was quite deserted, and the number of booths has visibly decreased year by year. I used to buy a lot, but today, after walking around, I had no desire to purchase anything…

I bought a USB drive this time. In the past, I purchased many from other brands, but they were rarely used and often failed when I needed them. This time, I went straight for SanDisk. Data is priceless, so when it comes to USB drives, it’s better to choose a reputable brand over no-name ones. Big brands at least offer better quality. It’s like taking a shortcut to stay far ahead. No complaints here.

Today, I saw Nintendo’s booth, featuring a Switch gaming experience zone and various IP-themed figurines. The booth was selling their mascot figurines. I suddenly realized how many IP figurines they have—this is a classic case worth learning from. Without any physical assets, these IP peripherals alone are worth a fortune. To build an IP, learn from Nintendo.

The power button on my phone doesn’t feel right anymore, and it’s out of warranty. I still planned to visit the Apple Store to check it out. The staff mentioned that fixing it might require replacing the motherboard, which threw me off—a simple power button issue could lead to a motherboard replacement! I asked for a quote, thinking I could accept it if it wasn’t outrageous. But after further discussion, I learned my phone is a Japanese model, which can’t be repaired in Hong Kong. Hong Kong uses dual-SIM motherboards, while Japan uses eSIM plus single-SIM. What a hassle! Should I not replace it? The experience isn’t great. But if I do replace it, the iPhone 17 is about to launch, and they say the iOS 26 system changes make data backup and transfer impossible. What a mess.

This afternoon, I went swimming and saw blue skies with white clouds—a rare beautiful day. The clouds in the distance looked like the squirrel from Ice Age.
